SUBSTANCE: before work point load P is applied to sample and counter-sample with application of lubricating composition without anti-friction additives and force of friction Ffr is determined when scuff appears, after that anti-friction additives are added to lubricating composition and load P d, at which scuff appears, is measured, after which friction coefficient is calculated by formula Ffr/Pd, where Ffr is force of friction in case of scuff with application of lubricating composition without additives, and friction pair is lubricated before work with compositions when values of said coefficient is not higher than 0.05.

EFFECT: reduction of labour consumption and reduction of time for selection of lubricating compositions with anti-friction additives more than tenfold.
