FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: sorghum feed grain is charged into a sealed chamber by 50-60% of its volume, it is treated with the main steam at a temperature of 300-350°C at a pressure of 4-5 MPa and microwave energy when exposed for 30-90 s. The grain moisture content is increased from 14-15% to 17-18%, continuously and vigorously stirred from the bottom upwards with the vertical auger. Turned by cylindrical brushes in the space between the inner surface of the sealed chamber and the outer ribbed surface of the auger housing, expanded in the explosion chamber - the hopper of finished products at atmospheric pressure, and the initial moisture content is reduced.
EFFECT: use of the proposed method enables to improve the quality of expanded sorghum feed grain and to reduce specific energy consumption, to simplify the technology of grain processing.
