FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of polyethylene polymer fibres extruded from the melt and can be used for replacement of woo pulp for production of paper-like substrates, in particular, for tea packs. Cross-linked PE homopolymer fibre is extruded from PE homopolymer melt that features MFI over 5 g/10 min to about 100 g/10 min and, then, processed by ionizing radiation. Note here that cross-linked PE homopolymer fibre with MFI of 5 g/10 min or less is produced for making of heat-sealing filtering paper.
EFFECT: decreased MFI to rule out fibre fusion in paper production thereof.
