FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to obtain functionalised carbonaceous nanomaterials. Carbon nanotubes are ozonised in a flow vessel in the presence of sulphur trioxide or nitric acid, which accelerate ozone action on their surface. Sulphur trioxide or nitric acid is fed into a vessel with nanotubes before feeding ozonised air. In an alternative version, ozonised air is fed through a flow vessel with addition of sulphur trioxide or nitric acid vapour at a rate of 1 m3/h for 1-8 hours.
EFFECT: high concentration of surface oxygen-containing groups.
