SYSTEM AND METHOD OF ANALYSING RADIO-FREQUENCY SPECTRUM OF ACCESS POINT AND WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK DEVICE Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC H04W24/00

Abstract RU 2569314 C2

FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication engineering and can be used to measure and analyse radio-frequency (RF) interference near or within a wireless field device mesh network. A centralised software module (CSWM) collects and analyses values from one or more wireless devices of the wireless field device mesh network representing RF power measurements received by an assigned RF channel and values representing the corresponding time of the RF power measurements. Each wireless device of a wireless field device mesh network measures RF power received by the assigned RF channel and the corresponding measurement time, while storing measurements if they are performed at times other than during reception of a signal, resulting in transmission by the wireless device of either an acknowledgment signal or a non-acknowledgement signal. Values representing the received RF power measurements and the corresponding measurement times are determined using the stored received RF power measurements and the corresponding time and then discarded. These values are stored within the wireless device until successfully sent. A network manager coordinates communication between the wireless devices and coordinates and synchronises the corresponding time of RF power measurement through the wireless field device mesh network.

EFFECT: reduced power consumption in wireless field device.
