SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for active scanning a first scanning target for use in a first station (STA). Method comprises: determining for performing an active scanning, wherein the active scanning includes generating the first probe request by the first STA, a first probe request having a scanning target originating from a first transmitter; in the course of waiting to access the wireless environment for transmitting the first probe request, detecting in the first STA a second probe request from the second STA, wherein the second probe request having a scanning target originating from the second transmitter; and with the provison that the first scan target pointer of the first probe request is the same as the pointer of the second scan transmitter of the second probe request, determining by the first STA does not transmit the first probe request to the first scan target.

EFFECT: technical result is to accelerate the active scanning procedure.
