SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication systems. The invention discloses a method of transmitting channel state information using feedback, and user equipment. The method comprises steps of: under a transmission mode, user equipment (UE) determining content of channel state information according to indication information, wherein the indication information comprises at least one of the following: a rank indicator (RI), channel quality indication information (CQI) and configuration signalling sent by a base station eNodeB; and the UE sending the channel state information to the eNodeB.
EFFECT: invention solves the problem that the content of channel state information is not suitable for those transmission modes under which switching between multi-user MIMO and single-user MIMO is possible, thereby improving the applicability of the channel state information.
