METHOD FOR SURGICAL MANAGEMENT OF NASAL ATRESIA AND SCARRY STRICTURE OF NASAL VALVE WITH INSERTING TEMPORARY SILICONE SPLINT Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC A61B17/24 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: Z-plastic repair is performed in the direction of greatest changes of a nasal vestibule scar. A temporary silicone splint is mounted on a nasal septum from both sides. The silicone splint with an additional section for nasal wing fixation is mounted from the operated side to form a breathing tunnel. A silicone splint without the additional section is mounted from the opposite side. The splints are fixed with sutures on choanal ends of the splint. The splints are additionally fixed with U-suture in an anterior portion. The additional section of the silicone splint is fixed to the nasal wing by means of the U-suture. The operation does not require postoperative tamponade. The patient is regularly examined on the 2^nd, 4^th, 7^th, 14^th, 21^st postoperative day. The splints are removed 1 month later. The patient is re-examined 6 and 12 months after the operation.

EFFECT: method enables providing the stable functional and aesthetic effect, improving the quality of treatment, reducing the length of staying in hospital and the number of postoperative complications and recurrences, preventing stenoses within the intervention by performing a microsurgical intervention, performing Z-plastic repair, mounting the temporary silicone splint with the additional section.
