FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method includes metal melting in steel making unit, melt release to steel ladle. Thickness of slag layer in steel ladle 200 mm maximum is ensured, and metal is supplied to furnace-ladle unit for out of furnace treatment. During out of furnace metal treatment at the furnace-ladle unit ferroniobium in steel contains is added, it contains ferroniobium 5-25 kg, with fraction composition maximum 4 mm at total consumption of ferroniobium 0.01-1.0 kg per 1 ton of metal. During ferroniobium addition FeO content in slag is maintained at level 2.0% maximum, and metal is purged with argon with flow rate 150-2000 l/min.
EFFECT: increased degree of niobium recovery in metal.
