FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of invention refers to medical equipment, namely to automatic injectors. A device comprises a syringe, a needle case connected to a distal end of the syringe, a distal cap for covering the needle case and a needle case extractor attached between the needle case and the distal cap. The needle case extractor comprises a tubular member enclosing the needle case connected to the syringe, one or more distal cap engagement mechanisms provided on a distal end of the tubular member and engaging with the distal cap, two case engagement mechanisms provided on a proximal end of the tubular member and engaging with the needle case; two case engagement mechanisms exert force to the needle case to remove the needle case from the syringe; there are two holes formed in a side wall of the tubular member; each of the two case engagement mechanisms is mounted in one of the two holes respectively; two notch sections are formed in the side wall of the tubular member and peripherally alternate with the two holes around the tubular member. The invention also discloses a method for automatic injector installation.
EFFECT: using the group of inventions enables controlling the device body visually to make sure that the needle case extractor engages with the needle case correctly and reliably before the syringe and needle case extractor assembly is inserted into the body.
