FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: spectral polarimeter comprises a telescope and a paratellurite crystal-based acousto-optical filter after the telescope. The acousto-optical filter is situated before the focal plane of the telescope at a distance of 50-150 mm therefrom. An elliptical mirror with a centre hole is placed in the focal plane of the telescope. The longer focus of the elliptical mirror coincides with the focal plane of the telescope. Further on the light beam path there are two flat mirrors, after reflection from which diffracted beams of the +1 and -1 orders are reflected from the elliptical mirror, inverted and form, on a CCD array situated on the shorter focus of the elliptical mirror, orthogonally polarised spectral images which are offset from each other in the diffraction plane. A diaphragm which blocks diffraction beams of the 0 order is placed in the centre hole of the elliptical mirror.
EFFECT: high image quality and high aperture ratio of the device.
