FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method includes addition of silicon dioxide to the melted aluminium, and melt treatment by products of water steam reaction with material containing deoxidant. Water steam is produced by thermal dehydration of silica-containing charge added to the melted aluminium, and treated melted aluminium is used as material containing deoxidant. The treatment is performed at 690-700°C for 1-2 minutes.
EFFECT: production of aluminium matrix composite alloy containing silicon microparticles, having high mechanical properties in combination with low specific weight.
