FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy of light alloys, particularly aluminum alloys, and can be used in production of ingots by various casting methods, in particular, by method of semi-continuous vertical casting. Method of making ingots from aluminum alloys containing more than 15 vol. % of reinforcing particles includes preparation of aluminum-based melt, adding silicon and iron therein, obtaining cylindrical ingot using continuous casting method, wherein calcium, zirconium and scandium are additionally added to the melt, and after crystallisation, the ingot is subjected to thermal treatment, which provides formation of a structure containing calcium-containing particles of eutectic origin in amount of not less than 16 vol. % and Al3(Zr, Sc) phase nanoparticleswith size of not more than 20 nm in amount of not less than 0.4 vol. %.

EFFECT: technical result is creation of method for production of ingots with composite eutectic structure, production of which is possible using standard melting and casting technologies for industrial production, and thus formed structure of ingot allows performing deformation treatment at medium and high temperatures and degrees of deformation to produce various semi-finished products.
