FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: metal-air current source comprises a housing filled with electrolyte, a metal anode placed inside the housing, air gas-diffusion electrodes mounted at both sides of the metal anode. At that air gas-diffusion electrodes have central cross flexures and are separated from the metal anode by electrolyte-permeable porous separators made of material with high ohmic resistance. The metal anode is shaped as rectangular parallelepiped mated with a wedge and rested with the wedge on the above porous separators.
EFFECT: suggested metal-air current source features high specific capacity, stable performance and higher operating life as far as it allows increasing ratio of metal anode soluble part to electrolyte volume and thus increasing energy-output ratio and operating time of the current source without replacement of metal anode.
