FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine. A method for analysing a pulse wave is implemented by means of a data processing device comprising a memory unit, a control unit and an output unit. The memory unit stores a pulse signal for a number of heart contractions. The control unit analyses the pulse signal for a number of heart contractions to calculate a pulse wave analysis parameter. The pulse wave analysis parameter represents a quantitative characteristic of pulse waves of a measurement object. The stage of analysing involves integrating pulse signal shapes from each heart contraction, which make the pulse signal for a number of heart contractions to produce an integrated pulse signal shape, and calculating the pulse wave analysis parameter after a heart contraction, for which a degree of approximation between the integrated pulse signal shape and the pulse signal shape of this heart contraction is less than a threshold, is excluded as a calculation object. The output unit displays the calculated pulse wave analysis parameter as an analysis result.

EFFECT: using the invention is expected to provide more accurate determination of the pulse wave analysis parameter by ensuring calculation of the parameter only using stable heart contractions.
