SUBSTANCE: invention relates to novel method of producing dithiine tetracarboxydiimides of general formula: wherein R1 and R2 are identical or different and denote hydrogen, an alkyl with 1-8 carbon atoms, optionally monosubstituted or polysubstituted with halogen, -OR3, -COR4, cycloalkyl with 3-7 carbon atoms, optionally monosubstituted or polysubstituted with halogen, alkyl with 1-4 carbon atoms or haloalkyl with 1-4 carbon atoms, aryl, optionally monosubstituted or polysubstituted with halogen, alkyl with 1-4 carbon atoms, haloalkyl with 1-4 carbon atoms, -COR4 or sulphonylamino, or arylalkyl with 1-4 carbon atoms in the alkyl, optionally monosubstituted or polysubstituted with halogen, alkyl with 1-4 carbon atoms, haloalkyl with 1-4 carbon atoms, -COR4 or sulphonylamino, R3 denotes hydrogen, alkyl with 1-4 carbon atoms, alkylcarbonyl with 1-4 carbon atoms in the alkyl or aryl, optionally monosubstituted or polysubstituted with halogen, alkyl with 1-4 carbon atoms or haloalkyl with 1-4 carbon atoms, R4 denotes hydroxy, alkyl with 1-4 carbon atoms or alkoxy with 1-4 carbon atoms, characterised by that dichloromaleimides of formula: wherein R is identical to the residue R1 or R2, in a solvent or a mixture of solvents is subjected to conversion with an inorganic thiosulphate in molar ratio of thiosulphate between 1.3 and 1.6 mol/mol dichloromaleimide of formula (VI).
