SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a novel method for synthesis of dithine-tetracarboxy-diimides of general formula (I) , wherein R1 and R2 simultaneously denote methyl, characterised by that, (A) dichloromaleic acid imides of formula (VI), wherein R denotes R1 or R2, react with an inorganic sulphide or hydrosulphide in a solvent or mixture of solvents in a molar ratio of 0.2-0.95 mol sulphide or hydrosulphide per mole of dichloromaleic acid imide of formula (VI), and (B) the reaction product, which consists of a mixture of compounds of formula (I) and polymer compounds of general formula (VII) wherein R independently denotes R1 or R2, n is an integer from 1 to 50, is heated in a diluent.
EFFECT: high output.
