SUBSTANCE: intravaginal device has an insertion end, a pull-out end, a longitudinal axis, as well as an internal space. The intravaginal device comprises a first structural material forming a device framework, and a second damping material having a thickness and enveloping parts of the device framework. The device framework comprises a working part mounted in close proximity to the pull-out end, and a retainer part extending from the working part and mounted in close proximity to the insertion end. The device framework comprises elongated elements coupled together and having a maximum section of approximately 5 mm. The device framework has a number of primary bearing surfaces mounted and configured so as to rest against vaginal tissues when inserting and using the device. The damping material thickness on the device framework is greater in the area of primary bearing surfaces than in the area of device framework surfaces facing the inside; a pull-out element is functionally coupled with the working part. An intravaginal device mounting system comprises the above intravaginal device and an insertion applicator arranged and configured so as to enclose the intravaginal device. The insertion applicator has an internal surface and a maximum internal diameter of less than approximately 24 mm.
