SUBSTANCE: discontinuous oil phase contains a UV-absorbing polyether, which is obtained via polycondensation of dimerdiol (monomer 1), ditrimethylolpropane (monomer 2), dimethyl adipate (monomer 3) and 3-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-5-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-hydroxymethyl ether of benzenepropanoic acid (monomer 4), in an amount which is effective for providing a sun protection factor (SPF) of said composition of about 2 or higher in the absence of a UV-screening compound. The molar ratio of the four monomers (monomer 1: monomer 2: monomer 3: monomer 4) is equal to 2.4:3.1:4.0:8.0 or 3.4:2.1:4.0:6.0. Said discontinuous oil phase is stable in said continuous aqueous phase and said composition is substantially free of a non-polymer UV-absorbent. The invention also relates to a method of producing said composition.

EFFECT: obtaining compositions having effective sunscreen action and low capacity to cause eye irritation.
