SUBSTANCE: self-ventilated resistor box has resistive elements mounted in rows in support and attachment fittings and current leads connected to the electric interface unit. Resistive elements are interconnected electrically and mechanically. Each row of resistive elements consists of vertically oriented air-permeable spirals wounded out of round-shaped heat-resistant metal wire with diameter of 1.5-5 mm, with spiral pitch of at least 1.5 diameters of wire and spooling diameter less than 12 diameters of wire. The spirals are mounted between the upper and lower current holders and are fixed at them through their outermost turns.

EFFECT: reduced operating temperature for resistor box at simultaneous reduction of its dimensions and weight.
