FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: power resistor is a unit with casing with perforated walls, resistive elements in the form of metal plates arranged parallel to each other, ordered in rows by means of support-and-fixing reinforcement and connected to each other through insulators. Plates in their angular zones along edges are rounded from above and from below. Plate of plates are oriented obliquely at angle α, determined from mathematical formula. Each of the insulators is made in the form of a stepped tablet of two different sized parts. Smaller part in form of protrusion it enters into hole of nearby plate with formation of relative gap between plate and insulator, value is selected from mathematical formula.
EFFECT: invention allows providing maximum cooling of power resistor.
