FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: device, intended for detection and removal of plaque from the surface of at least one tooth, is placed. Fluorescent agent, capable of binding with plaque, is applied on the surface. The surface of tooth is simultaneously cleaned and irradiated by light with effective wavelength to provide fluorescent radiation in case of contact with said fluorescent agent. Portion of fluorescent radiation (APV1) is registered and compared with predetermined threshold value of plaque amount (PPTV). Radiation before contact with surface and after it is passed through optic filters. If APV1 is lower than PPTV, device is placed into other section. If APV1 is higher or equal PPTV, other portion of fluorescent radiation (APV2) is collected. Percent reduction of APV1 to APV2 is determined when device is moved to other section. Claimed device contains radiation source, optic filters, optic collectors for collection of reflected light and fluorescent radiation, optic channels for transmission of light and radiation, means for conversion of optic light signal into electric signal, means for mathematical processing of the latter to determine quantity of plaque and means for cleaning the tooth surface.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of oral cavity cleaning.
