FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment and allows for the effective detection of caries. A method for the detection of one or more caries, using an image generation device, includes following stages: (i) a stage of direction of light from the first light source to a tooth; (ii) a stage of measurement, using an optical sensor, of transmittance of light from the first light source through the specified tooth; (iii) a stage of direction of light from the second light source to the tooth, wherein the second light source directs light to the tooth at an angle different from the first light source; (iv) a stage of measurement, using the optical sensor, of reflection from the specified tooth of light from the second light source; (v) a stage of comparison of measured transmittance with measured reflection, and (vi) a stage of determination, at least partially based on the specified comparison, whether caries is present in this tooth.
EFFECT: effective detection of caries.
