FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly to reprocessing of dumped nickel containing slags. The method of ferronickel producing from dumped furnace slags with low 0.02-0.03 wt % content of phosphorous includes slag grinding in amount of 80-95% to fraction below 5 mm, drying and baking. At the end of baking the slag is mixed with preliminary ground ferromanganese FMn 88 of the same fraction in amount of 5-20%. The obtained stub is melted, then ferriferrous slag is produced for further processing, and produced ferronickel is poured to molds.
EFFECT: production of commercial ferronickel from dumped furnace slags of the nickel plant.
