FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method includes crushing of raw materials, sieving through a sieve with a mesh size 1 mm and mixing it with sodium chloride in the amount of 10 wt % and coke fines in the amount of 5 wt %. The result mixture is heated up to 950°C, kept within 0.5-1.0 hours. After cooling, the mixture is subjected to magnetic separation. The magnetic component in the amount of 80-90 wt % is mixed with the chips in the amount of 10-20 wt %, obtained by cutting of low carbon steel workpieces at belt sawing machine, and over 100% add 5 wt % into the result mixture of sodium chloride Then the result mixture is heated up to 1000-1100°C, held for 4-6 hours, and after cooling, it is subjected to magnetic separation, separating chips from slag or ore residue. Then the chips after the prelimenary bricketing are melted in the electric arc furnace and poured into ingots.
EFFECT: nickel content increase in ingots.
