FIELD: metallurgy, namely processing lean iron-chrome-nickel ores for producing ferronickel.
SUBSTANCE: process comprises steps of drying and calcining lean iron-chrome-nickel ore; mixing prepared calcine with carbon containing reducing agent in quantity consisting of 0.5 - 14.0% of ore mass; melting mixture in furnace for producing iron containing slag and metallic melt; discharging iron containing slag; dephosphorizing metallic melt by batch adding to it flux in quantity consisting of 5 -20% of metallic melt mass and oxygen blowing of it for producing phosphorus containing slag and metallic melt with nickel content 5 - 20%.
EFFECT: possibility for producing commercial ferronickel with small content of harmful impurities from lean iron-chrome-nickel ores.
