ORAL GASTRIC PROBE FOR LONGITUDINAL GASTRECTOMY Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC A61F5/00

Abstract RU 2571324 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to oral gastric probes. A probe comprises a body, a distal part of which is applicable within bariatric surgical longitudinal gastrectomy, to guide surgeon's manipulations for partial gastrectomy and localisation of a post-gastrectomy closure line. A distal portion is configured to install a cylinder, which when inflated is substantially shaped as a pylorus cavity. The cylinder may be placed into this pylorus cavity; an end of the inflated cylinder is configured resting against the pylorus. A distal end of the probe body is configured resting against the pylorus cavity, whereas a portion of the probe body above the inflated cylinder is configured pressed to a wall of a lesser curvature of stomach. Using the invention enables performing the following stages accompanying the surgical longitudinal gastrectomy: pumping the stomach, gauging the preserved portion of the stomach, guiding and obtaining anatomical references, injecting and removing fluid, particularly to check the suture leak tightness. The probe can be easily introduced into the stomach and fastened therein to facilitate the surgical procedure of gastrectomy and sealing closure; it also helps to guide the surgeon's manipulations. The surgeon can easily observe the probe to avoid accidental sealing of the probe. The probe may be easily positioned in the stomach; it may be kept there for a long time on hold, without rotation and place shift; it is also easily removable. The probe enables determining the residual amount of the preserved stomach for performing high-quality gastrectomy. The probe may be sterilised; it is efficient and easy to manufacture and use.

EFFECT: structural improvement.
