SUBSTANCE: presented are methods for pulmonary drug delivery using a dry powder inhaler actuated by respiratory energy, and a dry powder drug delivery cartridge. The inhaler and cartridge may be provided with a preparation for drug delivery containing, e.g. diketopiperazine and an active ingredient containing small organic molecules, peptides and proteins, including insulin and glucagon-like peptide from treating diseases and disorders, e.g. an endocrine disease, e.g. diabetes and/or obesity.
EFFECT: group of inventions enables applying minimum pressure and pulse to the powder.
