FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method for determining volume concentration of precipitated moisture in liquid hydrocarbons, which includes completely filling with the analysed liquid a cylindrical cavity resonator with a longitudinal axis which is perpendicular to the horizontal, removing, after a time t≥10 s, the liquid from the cavity while leaving moisture; exciting H011 electromagnetic oscillations; estimating volume concentration of the precipitated moisture from the change in the Q factor of the cylindrical cavity resonator; further, placing a dielectric with height h on the lower end of the wall, the dielectric having permittivity εd and diameter equal to the diameter of the cavity; when removing the analysed liquid, moisture is left on the surface of the dielectric; varying the relationship enables to change the measurement range while maintaining high sensitivity to the volume concentration of precipitated moisture, where l is the cavity length.

EFFECT: high sensitivity and enabling variation thereof when determining volume concentration of precipitated moisture in liquid hydrocarbons.
