FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: method for determining volume concentration of precipitated moisture in liquid hydrocarbons, which includes placing an analysed liquid hydrocarbon into a cylindrical cavity resonator with a longitudinal axis which is perpendicular to the level of the liquid, removing, after a time t≥10 s, the liquid hydrocarbon from the resonator cavity while leaving moisture; exciting H011 electromagnetic oscillations; measuring change in Q factor caused by presence of moisture; further placing the analysed liquid hydrocarbon through the open upper end wall into the resonator cavity over a dielectric base plate placed symmetrically relative to the middle of the length, with a diameter equal to the diameter of the resonator, and a thickness much less than its height, wherein the axis of the base plate is aligned with the axis of the cylindrical cavity resonator; after removing the analysed liquid hydrocarbon while leaving moisture, moisture droplets are pressed by a dielectric plate; the upper end wall is closed; the diameter of the pressing dielectric plate is selected equal to the diameter of the resonator, and thickness is an order less than the thickness of the dielectric base plate.

EFFECT: high sensitivity of determining volume concentration of precipitated moisture in liquid hydrocarbons.
