FIELD: heating, drying.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a drying technique, and more particularly to dryers with active hydrodynamic regime designed for drying disperse plant materials with use of inert bodies, and may find application in production of foodstuffs, medicines and dyes. The unit for drying disperse plant materials in a layer of inert bodies comprises a conical chamber of the suspension bed with tangential inlets of the coolant, a vertical drum with a central body, the tangential inlets connected to the heater, and a feeder. The intensification of the drying process is carried out by the polydispersed inert containing two factions ("A" and "B") which are distributed in the drum and the conical part of the chamber, and the separate feeding of the coolant is used.
EFFECT: invention should intensify the drying process by use of the polydispersed inert containing two fractions different in density and size.
