FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: to obtain pure hydrogen fluoride and/or hydrofluoric acid from impure hydrogen fluoride potassium polyhydrofluorides are applied. Method is carried out in two stages. At the first stage at temperate -10°C impure hydrogen fluoride is condensed with lower potassium polyhydrofluoride, with further heating to 60°C, exposure at this temperature for 8 hours and obtaining higher potassium polyhydrofluorides. At the second stage higher potassium polyhydrofluorides are subjected to decomposition by heating to 100-155°C with obtaining pure hydrogen fluoride and lower potassium polyhydrofluoride. Pure hydrogen fluoride is distilled and collected and/or absorbed by distillated water with obtaining hydrofluoric acid. Obtained at the second stage lower potassium polyhydrofluoride can be applied at the first stage repeatedly, which does not influence obtained product purity.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to simplify obtaining of pure hydrogen fluoride.
