FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry. Reactor for carbothermal obtaining of titanium diboride (10) contains lower chamber (26), formed by vessel and perforated separating plate (12) and having input of inert gas (16), with lower chamber (26) containing held in it non-reactionable medium, upper chamber (28), formed by vessel and perforated separating plate (12). Upper chamber (28) is made with possibility of placement in it of mixture of precursors, with upper chamber (28) having ventilation hole (18) for inert gas, intended for supply of inert gas from upper chamber (28). Inert gas passes from lower chamber (26) into upper chamber (28) through perforated separating plate heated for reaction of mixture of precursors with formation of titanium diboride product.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to obtain titanium diboride with specified average size of particles for manufacturing constructive elements and electrodes of electrolysers.
