FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an electrode to be used in an aluminium electrolysis unit, which contains the following: 0.01 to 0.75 wt % of metal additives; with that, metal additives have been chosen from a group consisting of Fe, Ni, Co and W and their combinations; the rest is TiB2 and inevitable impurities, with that, inevitable impurities are less than 2 wt % of an electrode. The electrode has a density of 85% to 99% of its theoretical density.
EFFECT: invention relates to an aluminium electrolysis unit, obtaining of this electrode and to an electrode application method, as well as to a composition for its obtaining.
