FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention is referred to power supply networks contacting current collectors of transportation vehicles. The method for determination of process losses of electric power in railroad electric traction network consists in measurement of current, voltage and train ordinates in time at the railroad section. At that changes at contact feeders of traction substations and alternating- and direct-current amplifiers are made synchronically with measurements at the electric stock by means of global positioning systems. The measurement results are transmitted to the data processing server via corporate data transmission network from the traction substations, amplifiers and data collection units at locomotive crew shift points. Process losses of electric power for the analysed section of the traction network are defined as difference between power consumption read against data of the traction substations and amplifiers and power consumption read against data of the electric stock.

EFFECT: improved accuracy for determination of process losses of electric power in the traction network.
