FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention is referred to power supply networks contacting current collectors of transportation vehicles. The method for determination of process losses of electric power per traction at DC railroad traction substations consists in measurement of voltage and current at the traction substation at voltage level of 3.3 kV. Whereat measurements at entry of the traction substation converters and amplifiers are performed synchronically with measurements at high-voltage side of the converter transformer. The measurement results are transmitted to the data processing server via corporate data transmission network from the traction substations. Process losses of electric power per traction in equipment of the traction substation are defined as difference between power consumption read against data of the automated informative electric power accounting system and power consumption read against data of measurement systems installed at entries to converters and amplifiers in the traction energy system.

EFFECT: potential determination of process losses per traction in the traction substation elements.
