FIELD: physics, acoustics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to acoustics, particularly loudspeakers. The device comprises sound-reproducing means and a waveguide situated in a given sound radiation direction. The sound channel is configured to direct sound such that the sound exits the loudspeaker device at a second end, which is in the form of a sound outlet opening with a radiation angle of at least 5°, or 150°, or 180°, or 230°, or 270°. The waveguide has on the inner wall sound-reflecting material and sound-absorbing material. The sound-reflecting material is situated within a sound-conducting channel on a surface, arranged radially inside, and, overall, the sound-absorbing material is situated within the sound-conducting channel on the surface, arranged radially outside, and the cross-section of the sound-conducting channel is substantially constant on at least 50% of its length. The boundary, arranged radially inside, and the boundary, arranged radially outside, of the sound-conducting channel substantially follows in each case the shape of a curve which corresponds to quarter of a circle or ellipse. The waveguide has sound pressure increasing means and can be made of metal, glass, stone, wood, plastic and/or Perspex material.
