FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to cauterisation and dissection instruments. A device for surgical procedures comprises a gripping handle, a working piece connected to the handle and having at least one electrical contact, a radio-frequency (RF) generator circuit comprising a resonant circuit, and a control circuit configured to change RF excitation signal frequency in the vicinity of resonant frequency of the resonant circuit. In another embodiment of the device, the radio-frequency (RF) generator circuit comprises a frequency-dependent attenuator containing the resonant circuit, whereas the control circuit is configured to change the RF excitation signal frequency in the vicinity of the resonant frequency of the resonant circuit in order to adjust at least one characteristic of power, voltage and current intensity supplied to the contact of the working piece. A method for using the medical device involves producing an RF signal, applying the RF signal to an electrode of the working piece and controlling the generated RF signal frequency in the vicinity of the resonant frequency of the resonant circuit. A method for cauterising a vessel or tissue by means of the device involves gripping the vessel or tissue by means of the working piece of the medical device, applying the RF signal to at least one electrode of the working piece, which is in contact with the vessel or tissue, and controlling the RF signal frequency in order to adjust at least one cauterisation parameter.
EFFECT: using invention allows downsizing electronic units to be placed into a manual device with providing an output power and controllability required.
