FIELD: physics, optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an optical device, particularly for an external vehicle mirror. The optical device (2) for an external vehicle mirror has a mirror housing (4) in which there is a mirror glass, and an end piece (6) through which the optical device (2) is mounted on a mirror holder or on the external surface of a vehicle. The mirror housing (4) and the end piece (6) are formed as a single integral component (8). The end piece (6) is cup-shaped and has a first and a second wall facing each other with a distance in between and ending with an open peripheral region. The first wall is the external wall of the single component (8) and a connection region is provided on the second wall of the cup-shaped end piece (6).
EFFECT: optical device for an external vehicle mirror having a simpler manufacturing process and more cost-effective.
