FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises converting an electrical signal into a digital signal via measurement thereof at uniformly fixed time instances; predicting readings of the digital signal using a basic linear prediction operator; generating a control signal and, if the magnitude thereof at the said reading exceeds a trigger threshold, it is considered that a reading with pulse noise has been found, and the said reading is replaced with a predicted reading; using an additional linear prediction operator, generating estimates of digital signal readings; determining the error of the said operators as a prediction error of digital signal readings by operators based on corresponding sequences of readings, which are time-offset relative to each other; generating a generalised error signal as a half-sum of the errors of the said operators and taking the said signal as a control signal, wherein amplitude-phase-frequency characteristics of the linear prediction operators are selected such that, when predicting the same signal reading free of pulse noise based on the same sequence of signal readings, operator errors are opposite by sign but equal by magnitude.
EFFECT: high sensitivity and accuracy of determining a reading with pulse noise.
