FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: pyrrhotine-pentlandite concentrate ground to size 6-25 mcm is leached at 90-105°C and oxygen pressure up to 1.0 MPa at presence of sulphuric acid and sodium sulphate. The oxidated pulp is delivered for separation to solid and liquid phases. The metal containing solution is sent for processing, and solid phase - for floatation, during it sulphur sulphide concentrate and tails of dump quality are produced, to them maximum 5% of non-ferrous and maximum 5-15% of precious metal are transferred. To the input pulp at the leaching stage the sodium sulphate is added in amount of 100-300 kg/t of sulphide concentrate and sulphuric acid in amount ensuring keeping of the final pH of oxidated pulp in range 0.9-1.8. Method can be used for leaching of the pyrrhotine-pentlandite concentrates at any nickel content in range 0.5-20%.
EFFECT: reduced losses of precious metal with dump tails produced during processing of the oxidated autoclave pulp.
