SUBSTANCE: poultry treatment line contains a row of suspension frames for poultry and a treatment device or treatment devices; the suspension frames for poultry may move backward and forward relative to the treatment device or devices. The suspension frames for poultry and/or the treatment device or treatment devices are designed so that to enable selection between the operational position wherein poultry is treated with the treatment device or devices and the non operational position wherein poultry treatment with the treatment device or devices is prevented. One element of the suspension frames for poultry and of the treatment device or devices is provided with a switching unit having at least two positions: the first position wherein the selected element (either the suspension frames for poultry or the treatment device or devices) is forced to trace the first path that brings the suspension frames for poultry and the treatment device or devices together.

EFFECT: treatment device or devices is/are able to treat the poultry being carried over by the suspension frames for poultry while in the second position the selected element (either the suspension frames for poultry and the treatment device or devices) is forced to trace the second path that keeps the suspension frames for poultry and the treatment device or devices at a distance so that to prevent treatment of the poultry being carried over by the suspension frames for poultry with the treatment device or devices.
