METHOD OF INFORMING DISABLED PERSONS ON PUBLIC TRANSPORT VEHICLES APPROACHING STATION, IMPROVING SAFETY FOR DISABLED PERSONS WHEN BOARDING VEHICLES AND SYSTEM THEREFOR Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC A61F9/08 G01S17/46 G01C21/00 G09B21/00 G01R33/02 A61H3/06

Abstract RU 2573534 C2

FIELD: radio engineering, communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to orientation means for visually handicapped persons. A method of informing the disabled persons on public transport vehicles approaching a station comprises fitting the public transport vehicles with radio modules, driver panels and acoustic radiators, and providing the disabled persons with portable user devices, wherein the said user device automatically broadcasts a request signal, after which the radio module of each vehicle, currently located in the coverage area of the user device, upon receiving the request signal, broadcasts a response to the received request signal; the user device alternately receives and stores the received responses from all radio modules currently located in the coverage area of the said user device, and automatically sends a request signal for information transmission to the radio module of the vehicle which, upon receiving the said request signal for information transmission, broadcasts a message on the vehicle on which the radio module is installed, and the user device reproduces the information received from the said radio module in the form of repeating audio messages; the radio module of the vehicle selected by the disabled person then sends to the driver panel a signal for the driver and sends a command to the acoustic radiator installed on the vehicle, which reproduces an orientation audio signal through which the disabled person determines the right direction towards the open door of the vehicle. The request signal of the user device comprises personal data of the user, the radio module of each vehicle broadcasts a response with a random delay, and the portable user device automatically sends a request signal to that radio module of the vehicle whose response was received first. If the disabled person does not need that vehicle, the user device, at the instruction of the disabled person, sends a request signal for information transmission to the radio module of the vehicle whose response was received second. Successive request signal transmissions at the instruction of the disabled person to all radio modules currently located in the coverage area of the user device are carried out until the disabled person selects the required vehicle, after which the user device, at the instruction of the disabled person, broadcasts a boarding signal, after reception of which the radio module of the vehicle selected by the disabled person sends to the driver panel a signal for the driver, wherein, before receiving the said signal, the driver panel displays the disabled person boarding information, and after the vehicle doors open, the radio module automatically broadcasts the permission to board the vehicle received and reproduced by the user device of the disabled person. A system for carrying out the said method comprises, installed on each vehicle, a radio module, a driver panel and an acoustic radiator and portable user devices carried on the hands of disabled persons, wherein each radio module includes an information generation, storage and transmission unit, a receiving unit, an information processing and storage unit, an orientation audio signal storage and transmission unit, a radio antenna and a transceiver, and each portable user device includes an information receiving, processing and storage unit, a unit for converting the received digital information into analogue voice messages and storage thereof, a unit for generating and transmitting a request signal to transmit an orientation audio signal, voice information reproducing means, a haptic action unit, a radio antenna and a transceiver. The radio module further includes a unit for storing and transmitting the signal to the driver panel, which is provided with a unit for receiving radio module signals and an information display unit.

EFFECT: use of the invention provides improved informing of visually handicapped persons when moving in urban areas.
