FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: device for neurodynamic correction contains support elements of the device bearing attachment retainers and adjustable rods for generating force vectors: a cap, an upper support element, a lower support element, elbow pieces placed on patient's arms, support elements for hand and finger supports, knee caps, support elements placed on patient's legs, and a support element mounted on patient's footwear. The cap is placed on the patient's head. The upper support element is placed on the patient's shoulders, chest and back. The lower support element is placed on the patient's hips. Load-carrying straps attached to each support element bear attachment retainers for fastening the adjustable load-carrying rods thereon in the form of elastic cords. The load-carrying rods are attached to the attachment retainers and/or connect the above support elements and/or connect together the above support elements for generating force vectors taking into account anatomic structure of patient's skeletal muscles for creating correct posture and a motion trajectory of the body and extremity. The upper extremities contain tractions configured to stretch and swing the upper extremity to the outside (supination). Additionally, the device comprises a shoulder brace and tension loops fixing it on the suit. An adjustable elbow brace, to which tension belts are attached from the side of the elbow joint, is fixed to the shoulder brace from the side of the elbow joint; and tension belts configured to simulate the functions of palmar muscle and finger flexor, which are mounted in the beginning of the hand on a tension ring of interphalangeal belts and to a radiocarpal brace. A method for neurodynamic correction is characterised by using the above device, which has an option of random tension change asymmetrically with selective action on groups of muscles. The therapeutic course consists in daily trainings with the use of the above device for at least weeks. The training starts with minimum load (20-25 minutes), which is supposed to be increased every session to 1.5 hours at the end of the therapeutic course. The load is monitored for consistency with patient's physical abilities and estimated by cardiovascular and respiratory responses. The therapeutic course involves doing the exercises aiming at improving balance, walking, coordination and manipulation hand motions, speech and cognitive functions: standing with eyes open wide or closed, uniform body weight distribution between both feet, an ability to keep the posture when standing on each leg, working on step size, walking with various beats, fast start and scheduled stop, rotational walking, random coordinated hand motions, touching objects of different size, shape and texture with eyes open wide or closed, fine motor skills training, body and extremities spatial coordination training, text sounding as an improvised monologues, recitation, logical and spatial task solution mentally.
EFFECT: by graduated selective tension of body, arms and legs tractions, the invention enables preventing and correcting almost all pathological settings and deformities of the upper and lower joints, intensifies counteractions on pathological postures, provides correcting and preventing joint deformities of the upper and lower extremities, strengthening arms, improving fine motor skills, sensory and cognitive functions.
