FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: technique involves detecting the presence of pain syndrome, conducting an exercise stress test and coronary angiography. That is combined with determining nociceptive flexor reflex parameters - a pain threshold and a reflex threshold. A pain threshold/reflex threshold ratio is derived. If the patient appears to suffer from the pain syndrome accompanied by the positive result of the stress test, however intact epicardiac coronary arteries, and the derived ratio of 0.89 or less, cardiac syndrome X is diagnosed.

EFFECT: technique ensures the more reliable diagnosis that is ensured by the additional determination of the nociceptive flexor reflex.
