FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: on a disk and a blade shoulders are made with contact surfaces during friction welding with a necessary process allowance P on the periphery of the welded parts. The blade is put in linear oscillation relative to the disk in a set direction upon the simultaneous application of the welding force. P is preliminarily determined by welding of the blade blank with the disk simulator having on the shoulders preliminarily set process allowances. Then welding burrs are removed by machining, and the metal is removed layer by layer along the weld generatrix to a thickness S. After each metal layer removal the presence of defects is determined by liquid penetrant test, and the depth of location of each defect free weld area is determined L=S×N, where S is the thickness of one removed layer, and N is the number of removed layers. P of the required process allowance on the part shoulders is determined as equal to L.
EFFECT: method ensures the absence of defects in the finally machined cross-section of the weld joint made by linear friction welding upon minimum process allowance along the shoulder periphery.
