FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes the precipitation of aluminium hydroxide from a sodium aluminate solution with nitric acid, its stabilisation, processing with an acid, moulding, drying and annealing. Aluminium hydroxide is processed with solutions of nitric, boric, phosphoric or acetic acids, in a ratio of 0.003-0.04 mol of acid/mol of Al2O3. The obtained porous carrier has mesopores with the diameter of not less than 6 nm and not larger than 25 nm, constituting from 80 to 95% of the total pore volume, mesopores with the diameter larger than 25 nm, constituting not more than 5-20% of the total pore volume, the specific surface area of 100-300 m2/g, the total pore volume from 0.10 to 0.95 cm3/g.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to optimise the carrier texture and provide the optimal diffusion of reagents and reaction products into a mesoporous system due to the application of solutions of the mineral and organic acids of a specified concentration in the preparation of an aluminium hydroxide paste.
