FIELD: catalysis.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of catalysis. A method is described for preparing a carrier for a hydrotreating catalyst intended for the production of petroleum products with a low sulfur content containing aluminum oxide and isolated lanthanum atoms, in which the product of rapid heat treatment of hydrargillite is crushed to particles with an average volume diameter of particle agglomerates of 5-25 microns, then hydrated by 0.3 wt. %, solution of nitric acid, filtered and washed from impurity sodium, then the wet precipitate is subjected to hydrothermal treatment in the form of a suspension in an aqueous solution of nitric acid and a lanthanum source, the powder is peptized with stirring with 2.5% aqueous ammonia solution; extruded and after heat treatment, a carrier is obtained that contains isolated lanthanum atoms of the order of 0.1 nm on its surface, consisting of a chemical bond La-O-Al, with a surface density of 5-50 atoms per 10 nm2 of the surface and the ratio of the number of Al atoms to the number of La atoms equal to 50-10000, and the ratio of low-temperature forms of aluminum oxide χ-Al2O3 and γ-Al2O3 in the carrier by is wt. %: (50-95):(50-5); it is characterized by a specific surface area of 200-300 m2/g, a pore volume of 0.5-0.85 cm3/g, an average pore diameter of 7-13 nm and consists of granules with a cross section in the form of a circle, trefoil or quatrefoil with a width across corners of 1.0-1.6 mm and a length of up to 20 mm.
EFFECT: preparation of a carrier for a hydrotreating catalyst that increases the catalytic activity of the catalyst.
