FIELD: oil refining, chemical and gas industries.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of catalyst carriers for the oil refining, chemical and gas industries. A method for modifying aluminum oxide, a carrier of catalysts for oil refining processes, obtained from aluminum hydroxide with a pseudoboehmite-crude cake structure, includes sequential peptization, molding, drying and calcining. Peptization is carried out in two stages. At the first stage, concentrated nitric acid is added to an acid modulus of 0.029-0.032. At the second stage, a nonionic surfactant isodecyl alcohol ethoxylate is used in an amount of 1.8-7.2 wt.% at a temperature of 45-65°С. Calcining the molded aluminum hydroxide is carried out at a temperature not higher than 550°С.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the specific surface area of the modified aluminum oxide while maintaining its strength characteristics, to simplify the production, to exclude the formation of effluents.
