SUBSTANCE: object recognition method employs interrogation and response signals, as well as coordinates of the object to be recognised. In accordance with the coordinate grid, the battle field is broken down into non-overlapping squares. For each square, one response and one interrogation signal are assigned, the said signals being selected from a plurality of orthogonal or quasi-orthogonal signals. For different squares, different interrogation and response signals are used, and the number of interrogation and response signals matches the number of squares. On objects, based on coordinates thereof obtained from a navigation receiver, the interrogation and response signal acting on a given square is determined. In order to recognise an object based on coordinates thereof, the interrogation signal to be emitted and the response signal to be received from the object are determined. Upon receiving an interrogation signal, the object emits a response signal if the received interrogation signal matches the interrogation signal acting on the square on which the object is located. The object is recognised as "Friend" if the received response signal matches the response signal assigned for the square on which the recognition object is located.
EFFECT: eliminating the effect of intrasystem interference and improved signal energetic concealment.
